ethical fashion shopping: vegan shoes designed by Vivienne Westwood!

I saw these on a website called http://www.fashion-conscience.com/ they are designed by Vivienne Westwood for a vegan shoe brand called melissa. Made from vegan recyclable plastic. Are there plastics out there with meat in them? or am I just being dense?
