Alphonse Mucha

Alphonse Mucha has been one of my favourite artists for many years now. I love the detail of the patterns and the use of colour. I like the black outlines they look like drawings that have been magnificently coloured in. There is a romance in the flowing lines of the dresses and hair, I cant get enough of it.

The lack of postings during the past couple of weeks has been due to our computer being souped up! Now it is back and better than ever! Any way I was at my friend Jens house this week and noticed a Boden catalougue on her kitchen table. I have always liked Bodens style but felt it was a little old for me and way out of my price range! I have never been a huge fan of wedges, I have dabbled but I want these sooooooo much, I can not afford £99 especially when Im saving for a holiday! Ray if you read this! Which I highly doubt you will, my birthdays coming up soon, hint hint!

Window displays

These are some window displays i found on the internet form Bergdorf Gooodman, which I belive is in New York. I was looking for inspiration for window displays for work and when I came across these I fell in love with them instantly. I love the way the windows are telling a story not just advertising goods, its magical. Alas I work in a charity shop and can only use what people kindly donate to us. It is challenging sometimes but also fun. The window displays at Sue Ryder Care are never going to look as magical as this. One day when I have my own shop though the sky will be the limit.

Vintage fashion photography

I dont know what it is...the colours? The dreamlike quality of the image? The poses? I like vintage fashion images almost as much as I like the clothing. Hopefully when Ray starts photographing for my website we could try and recreate the magic and the romance of an old photograph.

I absolutely Love this ladies style, I think she is stunning too. Maybe there is a little goth hiding within me. I just love the clothing she wears.

Oh to be neat and organised!!

I wish I wish I wish my working area at home was like this! all bright, neat, tidy and organised. Alas this is not to be. I am one of these people that pick things up and never put them back were they belong. It drives my boyfriend nuts! I do try. I will get there one day.

I stumbled upon the artist Kurt Halsey on the net a while ago now and absolutely love the style. The characters are so simplistic and inocent yet the text that goes with it is quite dark. I love it.
