Recycling ties!
I had a moment of madness on eBay recently and am now the owner of 300 ties. I saw a videos of an Oxfam boutique that recycled the old clothing and made them into new and exciting one off pieces. This got me thinking so i trawled google images trying to come up with some ideas. here are a few that grabbed my attention. I like the ides of using men's ties to create women's clothing but i don't want the garments to look too home made. Is it just me or are the pointy ends a little too obvious and off putting? Ethical fashion : Beautiful Soul
Beautiful soul is a luxury womenswear label based in Notting hill. They use vintage fabrics, sustainable organic fabrics and factory waste. I love the silhouette on the wool jackets, some of these dresses are upcycled from vintage kimonos. very beautiful. www.beautiful-soul.co.ukWednesday, 23 February 2011

Shopping: cyberoptix tie lab

I saw this website the other dya http://www.cyberoptix.com/ thay sell screen printed ties, they are very modern and certainly not boring. If your going to buy a tie this christmas I would suggest one of these. They use waterbased inks for the print which is environmentaly friendly too! I relly like the squids at the bottom they have a vintage science fiction air about them.
